This trail crosses the privately held adjacent claims and intervening segments of National Forest and leads to the mine excavation that is marked by a small mound of waste rock or spoil extracted during the prospecting.
The spoil heap is clearly visible in the satellite photographs of the area. The excavation is clearly marked and mapped as "Prospect" on the USGS sectional map, and can be seen in relation to the boundaries of the mining claims.
Discarded pieces of piping and steel rails found on the Bailey and adjoining E. Beach claim appear to have come from this excavation, and were almost certainly carried in across the trail clearly shown in satellite images.
The trail is a track formed by either horse drawn wagons or by four wheeled motor vehicles. Accordingly it is certain that the historic access to the excavation on the Bailey Claim was via the existing trail that leads directly from the highway to the mapped and clearly visible mining prospect.
Please note that the term historic access is being used here as a strictly factual, not a legal term.
Parry Peak can be seen in the upper part of the photographs, with the fall colors of the changing aspens covering the valleys and flanks of the mountain.
The claims lie on the southeast side of the mountain. In this perspective they run from the lower left of the mountain side, on a diagonal to a point just a few hundred feet below the peak itself.
Looking west from the highway turn-off at the foot of the mining claims area. There is currently no deeded easement to the property so access is on foot across the bounding San Isabel National Forest lands.
The track shown in the photograph is the historical access that the original miners used to dig the still-visible excavations that lie on the southern edge of the Bailey Claim.

In front is a grove of aspens and evergreens in their fall colors. The mining claims begin just below the top of that line of trees and covers the center to right part of the mountainside for 80 acres.

The claims extend for 80 acres across most of the mountainside that is visible in the upper half of this photograph. This is a view looking east from a 4-wheel drive trail that is accessed from the west end of the town of Twin Lakes.
The track is about 3 miles long, and runs up the north and east side of Parry Peak where it passes close by the northern end of the mining claims. The photograph was taken from the track.
The north edge of the claims is just below the trees in the foreground. This view is typical of what can be seen from any of the south and east facing slopes and ridges on the 80 acres of these claims.
This photograph is of a old mining structure that lies to the northeast of the area encompassed by the claims. This was a historic mining area that used the town of Twin Lakes at its base.
The trail that leads from the town to the slopes of Parry Peak can be seen in the hillside just to the left of the mine structure. It is a beautiful drive for a 4-wheel drive vehicle from Twin Lakes to this point, over a distance of about 2 miles.
