In very short : Install cccp , install mpc-hc x86 latest , install madvr , instal LAV decoder x86, install xy-vsfilter , install ac3filter.

XD lol. Evangelion 4. Hachikuji Shiro you are probably using a non H10P compatible h codec. And in x Bette rnot use it , my system is too slow for it apparently.
Madvr works on any gpu. Even though I have a nvidia I get the best results using my cpu to decode h Especially when playing multiple videos at once.
In Madvr you can use your gpu for some of the scaling algorithms and deinterlacing mostly.. The best ones are cpu only anyway , the average ones bilinear bicubic , which are very acceptable are quite fast.
When using Madvr , the typical noob mistake is to not install the full spectrum of x86 libraries. Lav has a lot of offloading capability.
Mess with options in madvr , ie , prerendering , presentation queue , using different devices for presentation and DXVA.
Also make sure when you use a monitor that displays a full range , to use pc-levels for output. This is not the case for all displays , so choose carefuly , only 1 is right for you..

When encoding in hi10p , the original frame , when being encoded loses some detail where there is little to no contrast with adjourning blocks ie mainly the parts that are dithered the resulting image has a higher colourspace that is arguably closer to the original frame before being encoded in 8 bit on the bluray.
In extremis , imagine the original of a picture has a green part. That green is replaced by alternating yellow and blue pixels.
In the same line of thought , downscaling also creates new colours. HI10p uses colourspace. HIpp uses colourspace 24 bits per pixel for every pixel.
If source material in full 24 bit were to be available , hipp would be a very good option for encoding. Since a few years there are x builds who offer that option.

Every utility does the same thing really — it demuxs the video and audio and encodes them separately and muxes them back into the container afterwards.
Nice work… Can you send the srt file you used in the mp4 version. As I was posting the running length time of the movie, I noticed it was 96 minutes, which, according to the Wikipedia article, is the theatrical cut.
Supposedly, and I checked on Amazon, the uncut version is minutes. Can you confirm that there is such a thing as an uncut version?
So I finally got around to watching this… And I feel like they somehow managed to make this one even more confusing than the original series was.

The bluray is 24 fps as well , so that seems ok. Start muxing.. Then using the file that results from that , load this UTW release in mkvtoolnix , add the mkv you created in the above paragraph , move it up to second place in the list , uncheck the original first place.

Fourteen years after the worldwide cataclysm called the Third Impact, Asuka Langley Shikinami and Mari Illustrious Makinami , pilots of the Evangelion mecha, retrieve a container from Earth's orbit carrying Evangelion Unit 01 and its pilot Shinji Ikari.
When Asuka grabs the container with her Evangelion unit, it releases attack drones. Unit 01 awakens and destroys the drones, then deactivates and descends back to Earth.
Kaworu Nagisa watches and says he has been waiting for Shinji. As more drones attack, Misato launches the flying battleship Wunder , powered by Unit 01, to destroy them.
She warns that Shinji will be killed if he pilots any Evangelion units because of Third Impact, which has also prevented Shinji and his peers from aging.
The other previous occupant of Unit 01, Rei Ayanami , was never found. An Evangelion unit, Mark. Hearing Rei's voice, Shinji escapes with the unit.
Rei takes him to the ruined NERV headquarters. Shinji befriends Kaworu as they practice piano duets together, but discovers that Rei is unable to remember anything and only follows orders.

To stop the Fourth Impact, Mari ejects Shinji's cockpit from Unit 13, while Kaworu stabs the unit with the spears and allows the choker to kill him, to Shinji's horror.
Rescuing Shinji from the cockpit, Asuka lectures him on running away from his problems before dragging him through the remains of Tokyo-3, with Rei following.
