Let's not do thisShifting to present timeline, Hana wakes up near Sanae and left. Mugi, while thinking Hana and realizing Akane's real identity, called Mei to vent out his sexual craving.
Mugi expects Mei to stay longer but she left afterwards, leaving Mugi speechless. Hana and Mugi meet on the rooftop and express their pain and loneliness until they passionately make out.
They ended up in Mugi's room where Hana decides to have sex with Mugi but the latter is about to start, Hana bails out. Meanwhile, Narumi invites Akane to a date which she doesn't like.
Akane gets drunk and eventually trips, but is caught by Narumi. Akane takes the opportunity to kiss Narumi.
They end up in a motel and Akane continues her advances towards Narumi. The next morning, as Hana walks on the hallway, she bumps along Akane.
Akane bluntly tells to Hana that she had sex with Narumi last night. Hanabi, feeling troubled after being told by Akane that she had sex with Narumi, decides to get back at her by going after her admirers.
In her mind, she has an argument with a younger version of herself, feeling conflicted whether what she is about to do is right.
In the end, she succumbs to the desire of beating Akane, despite the fact that she is doing it for herself.
After school, Hanabi decides that she and Mugi should start dating for real. Realizing that she can't continue using her friend for her own desires, Hanabi meets with Sanae to tell her that she is dating Mugi, but Sanae tells Hanabi that she doesn't care about her relationship with Mugi, and states that she will never let Hanabi go.
The next day, Sanae continues to aggressively pursue Hanabi by touching her legs. Instead of stopping her, Hanabi feels guilty for taking advantage of her and deserves the punishment.
While resting in the infirmary with a fever, Sanae tells Hanabi that she will accept her regardless of her flaws and the best way to attract people is by hiding one's true feelings.
Later, Hanabi bumps into the man she saw with Akane and decides to start seeing him. While on a date with him, she realizes that while being one of Akane's admirers, he's only recruiting her to be a part of his own group of admirers, and starts to seduce him into falling for her.
At the same time, Hanabi feels that she is empty and doesn't know what it feels like to kiss someone you really love. When comparing herself to Akane, Hanabi realizes that her level self-respect and self-worth around men is much lower than Akane's, and the fact that simple rejections that can shatter a person's whole world is what makes love.
At school, Sanae leads Mugi into thinking that Hanabi is seeing other men to which Mugi later confirms after having a normal kiss with Hanabi. After, he runs into Moca and asks her out on a date.
When Takuya asks Hanabi to go to a hotel with him, the thought embarrasses her and she rejects him.
When he gets a call from another girl, Takuya casually tells Hanabi he only went out with her out of lust. Meanwhile, Mugi and Moca see a movie when Moca realizes that if her love for Mugi stays unrequited, she would rather have that than never getting a happy ending.
After her efforts to make Takuya fall in love with her end in vain, he leaves Hanabi. Hanabi admits to herself that her stubborn pride of wanting to be desired got the best of her where she couldn't tell the difference between love and lust.
Feeling empty, she tries to call Mugi, but he ignores her. Before the end of their date, Moca states that her unrequited love for Mugi is enough for her to keep moving.
When Mugi tries to get her attention, she confesses her love to him and they kiss. Back at Mugi's apartment, Moca recalls that throughout her life, she had always got her way by crying and acting cute around others.
In her mind, she rejects the embodiment of her innocence saying she wants to be touched. As Mugi starts to make out and intimately touch Moca, he stops and tells her he can't continue because she is someone special to him.
Moca confesses that she knew how he felt all along that while being special to him, she would never be someone he could touch.
Realizing that her love for Mugi that has kept her going will never go beyond his perception of her being "special", she decides to end it.
The next day, Mugi and Hanabi meet and decide to confess to their respective love interests and get rejected before the end of summer in order to officially date.
Sanae meets up with her cousin Atsuya who is in love with her. Despite knowing that Sanae has a crush, he tells her that her feelings for Hanabi won't bother him, while at the same time, questioning the nature of her love, attributing it to the fact that Hanabi is a girl.
Meanwhile, both Mugi and Hanabi come to the realization that they are starting to not see themselves as each other's replacements.
Later that night, Mugi contacts Akane to meet up while Hanabi does the same for Narumi. The next day, Mugi sees Akane and confesses his feelings to her.
As he openly continues to deny his feelings to her, his lustful desires overcome him, regardless of his earlier decision to be with Hanabi.
Later that evening, Hanabi meets with Narumi and manages to confess her love to him. As she cries, knowing he will never return her feelings, Narumi embraces and thanks her.
Afterwards, Hanabi waits for Mugi, convinced that she will be able to move on and is not alone because she has Mugi at her side, unaware that he is having sex with Akane, and is convinced that he'll be the one to break her from her lustful ways.
Hanabi wakes up responding to Sanae's messages and looking on Mugi's message since he didn't come as they agreed upon, thinking that his affair went well to Akane and being manipulated by Akane also.
Sanae invites Hanabi to a vacation which she quickly agrees. Upon arriving to an ancestral villa, they're greeted by Atsuya, which dismays Sanae. After their meal and Hanabi heads to bath, Atsuya pushes his affection to Sanae which ended up in awkward situation.
In the middle of the night, Sanae decides to sleep with Hanabi and continues her passionate affection. The next day, Atsuya invites Hanabi to a nearby lake.
Atsuya expresses his love to Sanae and let Hanabi decide for her own affections towards Sanae. After their conversation, Hanabi resolves that she should let Sanae go, ending her lustful cravings.
Later that night, Hanabi decides to end their passionate relationship with Sanae which the latter also does the same. However, filled with pain, Sanae berates and scolds Hanabi.
Hanabi wants to pursue their friendship even if they're no longer showing their affections. They separately went home and started school for the next season.

Ich habe wirklich lange überlegt welche Wertung ich der Serie geben soll, denn wenn auch letztendlich mein negativer Eindruck überwiegt, gibt es doch auch positive Dinge über sie zu sagen. Prinzipiell nur Leuten zu empfehlen die bedrückende Atmosphäre in Animes durch Drama, das ein wenig übertrieben wirkt mögen und auch damit einverstanden sind, wenn am Ende kein wirkliches Ende herausspringt. Aber auch die konnte den Verfall durch die 12te Episode nicht verhindern. Abgeschlossen
