Separating faction from fiction is difficult. The family seems to have some of the skills that may be needed in the bush.
However, they are unlike any Alaska family that I know personally. There also seems to be a major disconnect with the characters in the show and in the people depicted in other reality TV shows.
The entertainment value is there. I enjoy the way the family faces most hurdles together. They seem to have a very tight bond and genuinely seem to like each other.
It gets a 3 star from me because of the unreality factor. The show could be called "Family tries to live in Alaska" and it would have been nicer.
This show seems scripted. I realize reality TV is more than likely not real but this was obvious. I wouldn't be so put off by it but I paid money to watch it so hence the reason for the 1 star.
